All of us know that essay marks play a key role in the mains stage. However, despite knowing this, I had not adopted a structured approach of preparing for the essay paper in my earlier attempts. I had misunderstood preparation for essay as collection of quotes, facts and figures etc. I must confess that even in this attempt, I would have done the same mistake had I not come across the telegram channel run by Peeyush sir. I implemented his advice in my essay paper this year and I believe it to be the major reason behind scoring a decent 139 in the essay. Face-to-face evaluation has been a unique experience. To just share one incidence, I was not implementing feedback given and after 3rd essay Peeyush sir plainly said,” you are wasting yours as well as mine time”, This crude way of telling harsh truth kept echoing throughout my preparation. Further, the detailed face-to-face scrutiny of each paragraph of my answer helped me to learn the nuances of answer writing. I feel this eventually paid off by way of great jump in my ESSAY marks from 122 to 147 this year.
